Mmmm ... it's been a while since my last post.

Busy with life I guess. Kinda hectic these days. Workloads, test, personal problems blah blah etc ..

Owh yeah, another 3 week before the school closes down for the holidays. Anxiously waiting for it, needed the break from all this stuff.

Stress ... gah!

Adding salt to the injury, somebody hit my car last week. My sis was driving it along some parking space near Sing Kwong when some stupid lady reversed her car without looking out properly. The damage was not that bad, just some dents. What made me so angry was her respond ...

"You should have used the horn to warn me"

Yeah right ... better poke both of your eyes and give it to the Blind Society -_-"

Resident Evil Extinction

Meh, was feeling bored so I went to the cinema ...

Synopsis

Years after the Raccoon City disaster, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is on her own, aware that she has become a liability and could endanger those around her, she struggles to survive and bring down the Umbrella Corporation led by the sinister Albert Wesker (Jason O'mara) and head researcher Dr. Isaacs (Ian Glen). Meanwhile, traveling through the Nevada Desert and the ruins of Las Vegas, Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr), L.J. (Mike Epps), and new survivors K-Mart (Spencer Locke), Claire Redfield (Ali Larter), and Nurse Betty (Ashanti) must fight to survive extinction against hordes of killer-flesh-eating-zombies, starving flocks of killer crows and the most terrifying creatures created as a result of the deadly T-Virus that has killed millions of humans.

My review

Tis a good movie. I like the special effects, cool and authentic. Sound effects are nice too, scares the shit outta me especially the surprising moments. Storyline is direct and intense, making you want more and more. The only weakness? The film was bloody short, around 1 and a half hour? WTF? I felt cheated on that, why couldn't they make it standard like other 2 hours movie. -Sighs- But one thing for sure, Milla Jovovich is sure hot ... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm :P
Nick, who went with me to the movie, made some jokes about the actors, saying there are too many "Heroes" around, catch my drift? ;)

I'd give this movie 8 out of 10.

Google declares war on paid links

If your site has been buried under a heap of results, there may be a good reason for it. Google, which partially bases its search results on inbound links, has made life difficult for some marketers by declaring war on paid link sites.

While Google has always banned paid links, the search giant now seems serious about enforcing the rules.

Rand Fishkin, who compiled a list of 70 sites that have drawn Google's ire, told Forbes the crackdown on link directories has begun in earnest.

We do consider buying links to be outside of our guidelines, and be notified that we may take stronger action on that in the future," said Google senior engineer Matt Cutts. "If you're a webmaster, you can do whatever you want on your site. But as a search engine, we can do what we think is best to return a high quality index."

But one concern over the crackdown is that Google may go too far, blocking out blogs and other sites that sell links to marketers.

"This is a shot across the bow from Google," Fishkin said. "They're seeing a heavy amount of manipulating, and they want to show what it looks like when they take punitive action. It's intended more as public relations than anything else."

My view : All those webmasters who have paid link stuff in their site, better remove it quickly.

New AT&T terms of service: We'll cut off your Internet connection for criticizing us

AT&T has brought down new Terms of Service for its network customers. From now on, AT&T can terminate your connection for conduct that "tends to damage the name or reputation of AT&T, or its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries." So AT&T customers aren't allowed to write/podcast/blog critical things about AT&T, its billing-practices, or its cooperation with illegal NSA wiretapping, on pain of having their connections disconnected. My view : Sounds familiar? I wonder if our "local home brew net company" resorts to this kind of tactics later, sure die one x_x. It's plausible to happen since so many people are dissatisfied with their service anyway, I've seen so many negative comments regarding their services spawning around the web these days ...

I'm still waiting for our "savior" to come. One that doesn't need a telephone line. One that I can access anywhere. One that is cheaper and reliable. Yes ... oh yes!
